C0RKTINA 108 Posted October 26, 2023 i used the VIN decoder for my mark 5. The chassis plate has a U on it for origin and that wasnt an option so I chose W and it came back as Spain. As a 2.0 ohc 4spd manual with 3.45:1 in crystal green with brown cloth int. The body plate ( I don't have a full set of codes so one or two are missing). Fitted with the following items, 55amp alternator, halogen headlights, std dash with tach,dimmer swt, tinted glass, fort inertia belts,frt int light, sports rims with 165x13 tyres ,remote drvs mirror, std pass mirror,chrome handles,2 piece console with clock, brown cloth int,p21 radio, crystal green metallic paint,std servo disc brakes 9 in drums, (Not written in order of appearance). sheffieldcortinacentre 764 Posted October 26, 2023 (edited) Could be as one of the boxes is for special options/fitments( recaros originally being part of the "S" pack would probably be in that box with the appropriate code)but most of the info tends to come from when models are first introduced. Codes don't seem to be included in updates & aren't on microfiche slides at all . Same as I've never been able to get body dimensions for mk3-4-5 (only the chassis datum points) unlike the mk1-2 which I have the full diagrams for.
