XR3i Front

Hi does anyone know if XR3i front seats would be suitable for  a 2 door GXL would they bolt right in, and is height ok? Has anyone ever fitted? Ideally looking for tombstones?

If you fit cortina runners they should be close as the std seats are similar to mk5's.

I put rs turbo seat in Tina 1 

Had to cut shut frame and runners to get the fit in properly where as sierra seats bolted straight in with the runners

Bolted standard they sit  to high legs hitting steering wheel looking through top of windscreen,also the sit to far towards the tunnel making it not centered to steering wheel ,I notched seat to allow the arm to move when rails are flush with base and moved holes over with a plate of set

They’re nice looking seats, presently have a pair of recaros from a rover (I think) nice seats but do not tilt forward. The seat bouster has gone drivers side, just trying to get ideas for other compatible front seats.

Alfa seats have been used and look good 

I had cosworth sierra seats in Tina 2

years ago they fitted perfectly for a short . like me

I’ve seen the posts ref the Alfa seats, understand there’s a bit of work needed to fit, but it’s an option. Ideally after some get tombstones but searched high and low, no luck, keep looking I suppose.

Did try Ford recaros years ago, way to high, probably get them to fit with some work.

I have Capri recaro's on the proper cortina recaro mounts in my blue 2dr MK3 .

Not that I've thought too much about it but I'm assuming from your comment above that you couldn't just bolt a Recaro onto a standard 3/4/5 subframe ?

It's two bars that go across as there narrower & two longways to bolt onto original runners as per pic

Thanks will look at capri  recaro’s. The Recaro’s I tried years ago did just bolt straight in, but ride height was too high€not sure what they came out of!!
