On source I have is saying Jupiter red for Genk red velvet for Dagenham.

Yet another has Jupiter as 3.

Have to get the books out .

Right a bit of detective work says it's red velvet metallic (7) & that the second 7 means it's the second variant.

Red velvet was used from the launch in 76 untill around late spring/ summer 78..

 

7 = red velvet 76

77 = red velvet 77

78= red velvet 78

 

The letter codes can have a number at the end too which also signifies a year variation, it appears this system ran from the 60's to at least the late 80's.

 

IE 

J is Caribbean blue

J2 is Caribbean blue 82

 

As this colour was offered in 81-2

Hi. I think my Tina is Atlantic blue but I have no idea what the paint code is. Any ideas guys?

Should be L2.

 

If you look at the I'd plt on drvs side of slam panel the box that says colour should say L2 which would translate as Atlantic blue.

 

If not whatever is in the box check it against list top of this section or pm/email it me & I'll check.
