disco_monkey79 33 Posted September 10, 2024 Hi, I have been offered a recon starter motor for my 2.8 v6, but the motor was apparently intended for a 2.3. I am getting conflicting advice as to whether there was any difference. Some sellers list the same unit for all, some have them as for 2.8 and 2.9,which I thought were different! sheffieldcortinacentre 759 Posted September 10, 2024 2.3/2.8 are the same but check if the solenoid has 2 or 1 small terminals. With points ignition you need the type with 2 small terminals ,with electronic ignition has one small terminals. All the 2.4/2.9 ones have one small terminals ( as they all have elec in).
