Tie bar lower arm bolts

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Time to replace my tie bar bushes. But the two bolts that go into the suspension lower arm look like they've been at the bottom of a swamp, and I'm not confident of getting them off in one piece. I'll use heat etc. before resorting to cutting them - but are replacements available? I can't find anything online, although nearby things like the anti roll bar connecting links can be had.

Thanks!

Thanks Craig. I guess they'll be high tensile because there's quite a lot of vibration going on?

Sorry, one other question on this please - the front nuts on tie bars themselves look to be nyloc nuts, so I'm thinking I'd better replace them. But I can't quite tell from measurements whether the bar is 18 or 19mm. Anyone know for sure? Either way it looks to have a fine thread (pitch 1.5 mm). Anyone know for sure?

By the way, I think the lower arm bolts for the tie bars are M12 rather than M14, which doesn't fit the hole.

Thanks
