Heater 1600E

Recommended Posts

I'm sure I'm missing something here and before I strip out the heater motor I just want to check that I've done everything else. The heater on my 1600E wasnt woring on any speed. I checked heater ballast resistorand it  had burnt out. So new one fitted.  Still not working. Green wires in the loom go into a splitter. White wire ( live when ignition on) goes up into heater motor.  White wire coming out goes to single terminal on ballast resistor.  Black wires from regulator go to back of switch centre terminal. Traced green wires from switch go to other 2 terminals on ballast resistor.  Stopped and cleaned switch checked continuity all OK. I am assuming I need to take the motor out to check that now? Or have I missed something stupid?

From memory I’m sure resistor is for the slower speed so looks like motor will require checking. Would check wiring with my E but can’t get in garage for all my stuff ( junk according to wife)
