D-FENS 79 Posted March 6 What thickness string would you recommend for putting a windscreen back in a mk2 Cortina . What technique is best for getting it back in place , I have already taken it out and cleaned it up . A previous owner had used some sort of sealer all around it and it was a right mess to clean it off .

TIB3300 441 Posted March 8 Hiya D-FENS Put the bottom of the screen in first, make sure its in the center. Dont use too thinna rope, or it can cut the rubber.. 4mm rope is good A little bit of washing up liquid run round with your finger helps . I never used to to insert the chrome trim, but the guy that put mine in the GXL . Put the chrome in first and all went well

disco_monkey79 16 Posted March 30 I used (from memory) 5mm para cord to replace the rear screen in my mk4. I was using anew rubber, so nice and pliable, and I had steeped it in warm soapy water immediately beforehand too, for extra pliance.
disco_monkey79 16 Posted March 30 P.s. I got the cord from a tackle and boat supplies shop, but hardware stores sell it, and I even got some in poundland once
