ShortyPaul 0 Posted March 12, 2025 Hi guys, can somebody explain in "lament terms" what wheels will fit mk5. I'm looking at 14" xr3 apparently they have a 35mm offset or staying 13" capri Ghia alloys not sure about off set borhe cases using 185 60 14 or 185 70 13 how will speedo be on 14" rims? Can anybody advise. Thanks in advance.
sheffieldcortinacentre 764 Posted March 12, 2025 (edited) Those will fit as XR cloverleafs were offered on Taunus S pack. I've run 15x7 with the same offset, ford fwd wheels have the correct offset to clear ( it's offset that's the critical thing ). Remember the bigger the wheel (lower the tyre profile) the harsher the ride. I run 3 mk3's daily on 185-195x14 tyres Inc towing caravan. The two sizes you list are virtually the same overall rolling radius so little effect on Speedo. ShortyPaul 0 Posted March 13, 2025 Hi thanks for responding so to clarify will Capri Ghia wheels fit also I've seen laser wheels on is there an issue eith offset on either of this type of wheel with 185's on?
sheffieldcortinacentre 764 Posted March 13, 2025 Yep rs 4 spokes will fit ( except the mega rare & expensive x pack deep dish ones) std ford 13's of the same period are a straight swap. You'll need the alloy wheels too as the ones for steels are to small. Got loads £10 a set plus p&p.

deltamal 38 Posted May 12, 2025 I've got 14" Revolution five spoke wheels on my Mk3 and Mk5, they fit straight on and look good! but they are a bit difficult to find now being an 80's ? wheel.
