Cortina / Taunus video on YouTube

Recommended Posts

What a load of 💩especially in the comments.

1300 ohc was only ever fitted in Sierra's in the UK all MK4/5 2 drs were only base & L trim in UK.with 1.3 ohv engs.

& People who say 3 Dr Cortina probably also  say robin reliant argh

Also they're not 3 drs there 2 drs hatchbacks.

Do people have a serving door half way up the wall between kitchen & dining room ??? No they have anF£#@ing serving hatch!!!

.

Mk5 2dr.was only available as a 1.6 auro through the motobilty scheme.

The only market that got higher spec rhd 2 drs was the Republic of Ireland. A conversion to rhd of a Taunus is not a five minute job it requires amongst other things the full upper bulkhead, dash ,& scuttle panel, heater box, rack ,wiring loom & numerous other parts.

It's the most involved LHD to rhd ford swap there is.

I only know of one that's been completed & on a model never offered in rhd.

I've considered it several times concluding it would only be worth doing on a 2dr "S" or Ghia & to keep for myself as a purchaser or customer wouldn't appreciate what is involved in doing the work.

South African V6 cars weren't police specials they were std factory built cars, all mk5's not just XR6's were turreted & 5 linked. Even the 1.3.

I knew when I kept getting this in suggestions ( with cortina in title) it  would be more woke drivel..

Sorry lobby not your fault but this kind of stuff drives me crazy & is what I expect on the likes of faceache.

Every Taunus TC1-3 that I see for sale over goes unsold as who is gonna buy a LHD version ( no matter how solid) of a car that there a loads of rhd ones forsale.

I can't understand why people import them.

& Breath.

I have only ever seen a 1.3 Pinto in a Sierra. Before that, I didn't know that they existed! 3 door gets my goat as well and, on another point, "wing mirrors" when they are obviously fitted to doors!
