John Mack 341 Posted August 1, 2025 As far as I know all mk5's would've left the factory with a self adjusting cable. Like you I fitted a mk3/4 pedal and cable. Here's one ........ Beeper 85 Posted August 2, 2025 I a similar/same (?) set up on my Mk1 Fiestas. Jeez what a crap idea! I got stranded outside Oulton Park one afternoon when a tooth stripped and jammed with the clutch half way in, so no drive. I had to buy adjusters for both, about £7 from Ford, (IIRC, or was it £27? It was a long time ago) Great little cars until you meet a Mk2 Fiesta coming out of a side road as you overtake a dozy Datsun driver and,.....BOOM! Now I have no idea what my current clutch setup is like. It's a Peugeot, with the dreaded 3 cylinder 1.2 wet belt engine (run awayyyy run awayyyyy!). Lots of electronics, no CD player, No sat Nav unless you have an Apple phone to connect. Irritating warnings on the dashboard display, door open, release handbrake, tyre pressure (corner specific) below recommended limits, service due in so many miles or 4 weeks! After this car I'm going back to a Toyota! Mind you, robbing Rachel Thieves hasn't got me with the road tax, it's still only £35.
