Lobby 105 Posted December 31, 2025 Hi all, Any recommendations for a good quality petrol pump for a 2L Pinto? I've normally bought parts from Burton but have heard on here that their quality is not the best. Many thanks, Pete
sheffieldcortinacentre 711 Posted December 31, 2025 Yep like everyone else they've joined the race to the bottom in the name of maximum profit, if I'm not getting stuff from our local car spares it's from rally design. The pump is also used on cologne V6 &carved cvh engines ( 2 pipe version).
dgo 74 Posted December 31, 2025 QH list QFP88 as the pinto pump: Link which can be had from a number of places. Think their quality is still OK

STEVE440 9 Posted December 31, 2025 Sadly a lot of QH stuff is now generic reboxed parts from all the same manufacturers. I have got to the stage I carry a spare of parts that would stop me getting home that I can fit by the side of the road. So much of this stuff is made as cheap as possible. The problem is a lot of people ask for the cheapest part and not the one with the longest warranty. I recently fitted an alternator to a friends classic car, it didnt work and neither did the replacement supplied by the same supplier. We ended up getting one from a local motor factor and the price difference was only £12 more.
