Hi, I'm after an Atlas axle preferably somewhere in the midlands area but can travel further if required. If anyone has one going spare let me know. Cheers!

After getting my YB Cortina on the road I ended up selling the engine and and box etc so have the shell up for sale, it would be ideal for a 24v conversion or anything fuel injected as it has the fuel lines, fuel tank and HD axle set up... Heres some info 1.6 Crusader shell - very solid only one bit of rust in the boot (see pic), went straight through it's MOT a couple of months ago. 2.3 HD Atlas Axle Good interior New external Bosch Cosworth fuel pump New fuel tank with welded internal swirl pot New 2.0 rad, new electric fan, new fan switch Stainless exhaust system (home made for YB but could be modded for different engine choice) New front and rear screen seals Mostly polybushed New -1 inch front Burton Power springs Rev counter dash fitted Battery relocated to into boot New Webber inertia fuel pump cut off switch in boot New wipers and other bits and bobs etc Wheels are just a set of focus steels but have Goodyear tyres with aprox 5mm tread all round All it needs to get it on the road is an engine, box, prop (I have a 1 piece custom prop that I had made with the YB in available though)and front brake discs (standard calipers supplied with hoses but will need fitting). It's still got about 10 months MOT so could be on the road in an afternoon! I was going to keep it myself but can't find any cheap running gear locally. The only bad points are the paint has a few runs in it and needs a touch up here an there due to chips etc and the bit of rust in the boot. Also theres no heater matrix. It has been welded in the past but overall its a very solid shell. And heres the patch of rust on the boot floor - Obviously would need to be trailered am looking for £600 with the fuel pump, radiator, elec fan, inertia switch or £500 without. Car is in Southport, Cheers Tom

Hi, I've got these brakes up for grabs if anyones after some upgraded stopping power for your Cortina, I've had them fitted to my MK5 so should fit MK3's and MK4's too. I've fitted all new seals, all new bolts, new brackets, new caliper spacers, new bleed nipples, new discs - 285mm vented and grooved (you'll prob need 15 inch wheels to fit over them), braided hoses included, new EBC Green Stuff pads, just bedded in. All the parts ended up costing £450 quid in the end (I have the receipts if needed). I've had them on the car for about 300 miles so they are in perfect working order. The paint is a bit rubbish on them and theres a small chip (see pic) on one but this in no way affects performance, and also theres a small rip in one of the dust seals from when I fitted them and caught it on a sharp edge. Heres some pics, I'm after £300 to get some money back for them. They are pretty heavy with the discs collection is prefered (I'm in Southport) but I could post for about £15. Any questions let me know, I'm prob gonna stick them on ebay at the weekend but thought I'd give a heads up on here first. They are still fitted to the car at the moment so some surface rust may occur as it's no longer in use, will be taking them off at the weekend. Cheers Tom

Hi Well I got to the bottom of my non starting problem (took the car to MSD in Blackpool and it turned out I had forgotten to take off the tape I'd put over the intercooler to stop crap getting in  ha ha it had been driving me mad!). Now I have another problem! Should be the final one though and Im'm hoping to get it on the road in the next couple of weeks. I had noticed some play in the steering wheel and it looks like the column may have collapsed as the wheel sits further in than it is supposed to (high beam stalk hits the wheel when pulled back) and also moves out if pulled hard. Looking at the Hayes manual theres little pins that shear if you crash, can these be replaced or do you need to change the whole lot? (Car is a late MK5 Crusader). Thanks Tom

Hi, Any chance you have a steering wheel boss for a 4 spoke wheel, (the bit that slides on between the steering wheel and the indicator canceller)? I can't find the one I got anywhere! The colours not important. Cheers Tom -
Hi, I'm after a Mk3/4 clutch pedal to convert my Mk5 to a manual adjustable clutch. I'm having problems with the self adjusting mechanism on mine as the quadrant has snappped where the spring attaches and would rather just go to a manual one. Just need this and a couple of bits then I'm ready to get it on the road! Thanks Tom

Hi Any chance you have the plastic steering wheel shroud that goes behind the steering wheel and also the plastic part that cancels the indicators? Cheers Tom

Thanks for the link, I'll check the plugs and also the phase and crank sensor gaps too tomorrow and see what they are like... try a new set of plugs, they don't like geting wett,,,, by the way, got mine on the road now, all i can say is bonnnnzzzzzi, man your going to love it. when yours hits the road. Hi Gazz, have just ordered a new set of plugs as the ones in are a bit black but it does seem to be firing. I've checked the gaps and all seem to be within spec. I'm sure it's got to be something timing related as the engine always stops with a crankshaft pulley marker exactly over the crank sensor. It does fire once or twice and sounds like its about to start then just stops as if its firing out of sequence or at the wrong time. Hopefully it'll be something simple, then just got to tidy up the wiring etc to get it finished. Yep can't wait to get it on the road but gotta sell my daily Accord first as I'll have no room on the drive! Glad to hear yours is going well, I'll put some pics up once mines running! -

Tried starting the engine today for the first time as the cars pretty much finished but couldn't get it to start, engine turns over and fires once or twice then just dies. It's getting fuel and sparking. If I take out one of the spark plugs it will start straight away but obviously very roughly... tried all the plugs and its the same with whatever one you take out. Thought the plug leads might be on wrong but they seem to be correct, also tried a fresh battery. Does anyone have any ideas???? On the plus side all the other electrics etc seem to be working!! Thanks Tom

Hadn't even thought of trying them tbh, I'll give them a call tomorrow and see if I have any luck. :headscratch:
