Just an update for you. Frodnut came and viewed today and has verified the shell to be a two door GT shell. It's actually a 1600GT.

Hi folks, My Dad has got a MK2 Series 1 2 door GT resto project that he is thinking of selling. It's a LHD in Saluki Bronze. Believed to be a 1500GT. The shell sat in a Dutch barn for many a year but it was in dry storage and, importantly, was covered in a wax like substance which has very much saved it. The shell is solid!! Floorpans are like new really. Underneath appears in very good order. From what I can see, there is a patch needed in one of the rear quarter wells and the A pillar returns on both front wings will need attention. The doors both shut with a very solid clunk. The paint, where good, has survived remarkably well but there is some surface issues that mean that a respray would be the way to go. There is no engine and box in the car. Some interior but not the right ones. Though the door cards are in good condition. The Dash has the correct gauge pod across the top and I believe all gauges are with the car. It's not a couple of weekends work, but it is a really good base for a restoration with not a lot of shell work needed (from what my untrained eye can see!)And, its a two door GT which makes it rare, surely! A two door GT plate can come with the car. This was retained for a re-shell but its entirely up to you if you wish to apply for new plates for this one. Afraid I haven't worked out how to put pictures on here yet but can easily send some via phone etc, for any interested parties. Will probably end up listing this on Ebay in the near future, but wanted to give you guys a shot at it first. A rare shell in good solid condition. He has an idea of what he'd like to get for it. Hi all, just a further request for pair of mk2 front wings and a bonnet. Cheaper the better. Condition not massively important (even dented and rusty). Am trying to re-panel a mk2 Cortina historic stock car. So, if anyone has recently binned off their panels for new ones, but didn't throw them away, please shout. Close to south east would be ideal, but can get collected wherever you are Thanks, in advance Mark

My father and I broke a very poor condition mk2 estate a little while back, to help his 2 door GT project for parts. Have some surplus parts available now. I have no photobucket type account so don't think I can show photos, but happy to message them over to anyone. There is: Good Solid Tailgate, with badges still present, interior panel in black, Glass screen still fitted. £60 Rear Hinge bar in good condition £20 Rear Hinge cover with clips and metal front edge trim. (this has surface rust but would clean up and paint just fine!) £20 RHD Dash (not just the fascia, the entire metal dash cut out of the car) The dash top has two crack in but would repair nicely £40 Load area floor mat (has a tear on underside I believe, but top would clean up nicely and still nice a thick padding!) £25 Wheel arch, gutter & various other chrome trims as a batch (the gutter trims are curled where they have been removed, but will straighten when refitted) £40 Loads of other stuff which I will list when I have remembered what it is!! Even Rear quarters if there are some. Doors and wings only have to be the tops so it doesn't matter how rotten the bottoms are. The bonnet should only be a poor condition one too....as we aren't gonna ruin good ones. If anyone has anything laying around that is no good for a resto, but they haven't had the heart to throw out, we could put it to good use :) Based in West Sussex, but couriers are wonderful people!! Although I still have many parts of this old girl available, what remains of the shell is heading to the bin tomorrow. However, the original Vin plates are not. Nor is the old style v5 showing no previous owners since 1977......In case anyone was interested???

Stripping this down and there are some very good bits on her. The seats have no rips or tears. The fronts have been sat in, but the back appears brand new!! Tailgate very good too.

Firstly, must say what a stunning shell you have there. Will look fantastic when finished! Unfortunately I can't help on this occasion as the car I have is a four door and the chrome is different to the picture you show. Sorry Mark

Picked up a mk2 Tina today. It's a 1600 super estate. Unfortunately this one already has both feet in the grave but the plan is to use it as a parts cow for my 2 door gt project. However, there is plenty of parts left including all major components. What do you need?? Am based in West Sussex but can post, obviously! Hi guys, I have a friend in Holland who is trying to obtain a fairly local shell to his location. It is surplus to his requirements and he is just doing it to help someone over here really. It's a Mk1 TWO DOOR in a solid condition (he tells me) . Perfect for a Lotus reshell? He is willing to bring it to me at Dover, I will then ship it to Sussex where you lovely folks have the opportunity to collect it! PM me with your offers. If he manages to get hold of it I will, of course, send you photos etc, and any offer is subject to agreement when viewed.
