  1. Never took much notice of me front bumper tbh. If I can make use of franks doors then I shall break it
  2. went and brought this mk4 today, was hopin to be a quick weld up then smoke around while i take my mk3 of the road but looks like this will take some time. brought back to bucks from wales this morning and got straight onto stripping engine bay ready to clean the whole tin of oil they used in there (everything you touch is sticky and a mess). even got evostik holding tops of wings on. needs o/s doors and tailgate if any going spare if mk5 dont fit as might break frank the tank now. will let the pics do the talking for now. wtf the n/s rear chassis rail
  3. engine bay already stripped mark
  4. wanted to go diesel but having trouble finding rwd diesel bits so might just stick 2.3 in it for time being if plans go wheel. your mate lee its not mr edwards is it
  5. alignment shouldn't be too much trouble as i shall leave old o/s bits on car first and get all measurements from my other mk5 to fit n/s square.
  6. managed to find time to get new chassis legs of spare front end and start stripping old chassis down.

  9. hi just having a think and wondering if anyone has ever solid mounted the front axle on mk3/4/5. solid mount it as in the 4 main subframe bushes gets removed and welds the holes up with tube and a bolt through it. thinking about trying it on my mk3 as front end is fully polybushed with everything newly replaced but still rather soft and bounces around
  10. front chassis got removed so they could fabricate it into a american motor along with both axles, place was like a small boyd coddington shop, it was a custom hot rod bodyshop called valley gas in andover
  11. had slight engine bay fire, started to strip and repaint some panels, rebuilt axles. advertised it on here with lot of spares no one wanted it so give it to my brother in law to race while still tax and tested
  12. chassis will just take a fair bit of time measuring up exact and cutting new piece out to exact size. looks tidy from distance but close up its pretty bad. i did own this tina about 6 years back and was tidy then
  13. u should all know this motor by now (frank the tank), now mine as brought of ebay and collected yesterday, brought with no running gear and engine bay chassis cut out, but i got a complete mk4 front end and lots of axles so didnt bother me. still got mot till september. plans are to reweld new chassis legs, refit axles and fit a ford 1.8td lump on t9 box. paint job is patchy, dont think primer was used as can still see the original blue, rear arches are full of filler and totally lost count on the amount of patches that have been welded on the car. bodywork and interior will be staying untouched for time being as conditions dont bother me (take look at current mk3 road car lol). managed to fit 2.0 rear axle today and strip the rubbish out engine bay, they had cut the wiring loom into bits, cut brake lines, remove and dismantle the servo and heater box. and a picture of my current everyday car with 2.8 5spd fitted
  14. thanks for the offer, i got all tools to make myself but just as easy to fit s/h pipes
