It is still in the car & can be heard running or I can send a video clip of it running and some pictures if anyone is interested please PM me.
  6. Hi All, Due to purchasing another L/C I am thinking of selling my 1963 MK1 L/C A-Bracket Pre Aeroflow rolling shell. This is a genuine shell with all the correct modifications carried out by Lotus & its not a fake or a replica. The shell comes compete with the following original parts: A-bracket rear axle (A-bracket been replaced for leaf springs but all mounting points still present) Front suspension Front brake callipers Front anti roll bar Steering box Steering column Dash top (in good condition) Battery lead 5.5j steel wheels I can also include a 1963 Cortina 1200 Deluxe 2 door LHD car which is virtually a complete with only 37000 kms which has the majority of the panels and some of the trim etc required to restore the L/C shell if required. From initial inspection I would say the car needs the following panels/repairs: both front wings & front panel (they are missing) inner wing top sections, both front door posts, o/s/f floor pan, outer sills, rear wheel arch repair sections, n/s chassis outrigger, small repair to o/s chassis section (under floor pan), n/s boot well section, repair to roof, repair to front scuttle panel. It sounds worse than it is as the majority of the underside is in excellent condition & the fact the car has been blasted there is no further nasty surprises to find. This is what I was told when I bought the car: it was taken off the road in the late 70's/ early 80's possibly to be restored & the shell was stripped bare and it was blasted and primed & it was left untouched/discovered until 2013 when it was found in a dilapidated council garage/ lock up in Kinson Bornemouth. The majority of the parts were not with the car by the time I purchased it, so I suspect they were either sold, stolen or stored elsewhere prior to the car being discovered. If anyone knows any more info on the car/ shell I would be interested to find out as I have not managed to find out much about it due to lack of time and knowing where to start enquiring, or if anyone knows of a car from Kinston in the 70's/80's then please let me know. I have loads of pictures of the shell which I am happy to send to interested parties after they have been in contact. I am open to sensible offers on the shell from genuine buyers, so please either PM me or call me on: 07831 511639 (Niki)
  7. Hi, Is the registration number of the L/C you are looking at: FOK 736D? If so I previously owned that car & sold it circa 2003, I saw it advertised on car & Classic recently & heard that it has not sold yet but it was going to auction soon. Niki
  8. Hi Andrew,

I did get a MK1 L/C but I am after another for a good friend, do you know of one for sale?

    Niki

  9. Hi Rob, Is roof definitely sold? Niki
  10. Just a quick update to say the block was inspected today by a local Twincam engine specialist, he said that is was a very good block & he measured & confirmed the bores are +30 and the bores will be honed tomorrow as that's all they require. Price wise I need £400.00 for it which I think is a very fair price.
  11. Hi All, I bought some engine parts this week and I have the following bare engine block for sale as it is surplus to requirements: Block date code: 7A13 (1967 Jan 13th) Block number: 3020E6015 (the original first 4 number have been ground off and re-stamped with: 3020 which I believe correct/ what Lotus done at the time) Engine number: LP8162LBA Bell housing end stamped with: LB & PP Bores: +30 & will only require a very light hone due to storage (not had liners fitted & walls do seem very thick) Caps: all main caps matching and correct for period This is a genuine Lotus picked block without the L cast on it which I believe to be correct for the period, so I would suspect it was fitted to an early MK2 L/C, Elan, Europa etc. Overall I would described it as a very good block and with a light hone & a repaint it would be ready to use to rebuild a worn or incorrect block you have fitted in your car. For any further questions or pictures please do not hesitate to contact me via PM I am based in central Scotland but I can put it on a pallet if you organise your own courier Open to sensible offers
