As stated above, mk5 ghia alloy in good condition, also march 1973 2 litr GT complete lump. Not been run since 78, car had a slight bump, put into storage etc etc, i bought car and put a known good 2lite 5spd complete lump in. Engine turned over when car was bought, it's just now getting in the way. Probably rare cos it's a GT. Complete lump inc manifolds. Will require collection. Post code NN7, 3 miles from M1 J16.

just re-read my last post, forget the word pattern and it makes much more sense

Making light of the subject in my experience the only way you can tell if it is a genuine pattern is if it fits without the use of brute force, weight applied in strange areas and much swearing at "why didnt I buy a real on".

Yep, all sorted now I've properly earthed the indicator case!

Gents When i said the rear one comes on i mean it comes on and stays lit. Which says to me the rear earth is good, and as with older cars if a bulb goes at the front the rear should flash twice as fast. I will try the extra wire to good earth, Does the above change the dodgy earth??

Hi all, its MOT time and my early mk3 have dodgy indicators. N/S work fine, but on the O/S the rear indicator comes on but the front does not. All connections appear good visually. The car is an early mk3 so it has no hazzard lights. Flasher unit?? Dodgy earth?? HELP. No MOT and its lovely weather out there!!! Thanks Austin

Hi all, my mk3 1600 auto's indicators have been giving my jip, nut its MOT time so the problem can't be ignored anu more!!! N/S work fine, but on the O/S the rear indicator comes on and stays on, and the front does not come on at all. Its an early mk3 so has no 4way flashers. Any ideas. My limited understanding would heve me thinking the flasher unit serves both sides but there will be many better informed people out there. Help please all. Austin

Advice please ladies and gents, I have recently picked up a lovely mk3 tax free xlow auto, and much as it is nice and easy driving an auto Ive felt it wouldnt even blow the skin of rice pudding. Being an ex banger driver years ago before my kids came along I am aware of the pedal box & gearbox crossmember issue, but can you all please advise me what manual gbox's will mate to a crossflow, and hopefully a 5 speed sierra. I am also aware the starter will sit on the opposite side. 5 spd would greatly enhance the car I reckon, so please advise. It has the 2 piece prop with , so I know that is a help with the different number of splines between 4 & 5 spd props. Also, if 5 spd is a "man from delmonte" Anybody got the box/prop/flywheel? Thanks Austin
