No

Pre-facelift base/L have a rubber with flock on tunnel then late 72 went to a sort of basic bristle carpet.used in early XL.

Then XL/ GXL/GT had loop pile.

Facelift on base/L got the bristle style ,XL/GT was loop pile,E got the tufty wool type,

From 75ish through to 82

Things more or less stayed constant

Base was bristle, L,XL/GL, GT/S was loop pile, E/Ghia wool.

Boot all MK3/4 saloon where rubber MK4/5 Ghia where carpet Inc sides.

Estate MK3/4 base/L rubber XL/GL mat. E/Ghia carpet.

Mk5 saloon boot base/L/GL a sort of sponge. Ghia carpet.

Mk5 estate base/L/GL mat , Ghia carpet.

Saloon boot is always black.

Estate mat/carpet same colour as int.

Just for reference I have seen loads of Ls with a proper carpet that were earlier than late 72 - so I think the half and half floor covering would have been a Base only thing earlier than that
