It's quite a common thing is Pipe Fab. Block off one end of the pipe and fill the pipe with Dry Sand and seal up the pipe. Apply heat and form the pie bend around a former and the pipe stays round.

I've tried the salt trick and it's worked great so far! The lines are bending without any kinks.

My only worry at the minute is my flaring.

I've added some pics of the flares, they're still a little uneven. It's taken me countless attempts just to get them half decent.

I've added some pics below, are these flares ok to use? Or do flares need to be perfect? I don't want to take any risk with the brakes, but at the same time if these flares will work I don't want to continue attempting to get themperfect.

All those look fine with the DIY equipment we have those are pretty good, you'll struggle to get them much better.

Thanks for replying, really appreciate all the help.

Those flares in the pics are probably the worst flares of the lot, but it takes me numerous attempts just to get them half decent.

Thanks again for all the help. Here's a pic of the car I'm working on.

That's a nice example, and worth the effort restoring.
Is it a Canadian spec one?

Thanks! I just want to get it running. Got the engine started, now working on the brakes and then onto electrics. Not too bothered about the body right now, just want to have some fun in it!

I'm pretty sure it's UK spec. Logbook says UK too

I was just wondering if it was Canadian as it looked like it had the indicators on the rear quarter panel.

No they look like aftermarket ones.

The Canadian ones are side marker lights not indicators & would be lhd.
