Bump post. I'm bidding on the one on ebay, just wondered if theres any others about please?

Evening all. I have a 1972 GT 4-Door & the front end is too high for my liking, possibly due to the unknown ride height/poundage of the front springs fitted. After a lot of messing around with used springs I am going to buy a complete new set as I just want it to ride level, with a firm enough poundage so it doesnt catch the tyres. Replaced the complete set on my Mk3 GXL many years ago & ran 7x13 Allycats & they never caught the arches, & it ran level - but that was when you could order up a set of standard Mk3 springs After looking at Burton & Rally Design, & hearing something about Mk4 -1" front & standard Mk4 rear equals standard level Mk3, I'm confused??? Please can someone advise? Many Thanks Paul (GT is running Monroe Gas-matic fronts with 7x13 Compomotives & 205/60R13 tyres - not intending changing them as I'd rather replace the (possibly) Mk5 springs) - In Need of x1 Monroe Gas-Matic part no 42009 for the rear

The last ones they sold were £105 apparently.

Wanted; Mk3 Rear Window Louvre Anything out there please? Drop me a PM. I'd have to collect (cant risk the post) so nearer to the south coast the better. Thankyou Paul

Fair comment, & I would love to go the Gaz route. However, as I've used Monroes on my Granada/Cortina/Capri over the years, I'm happy with them. Also, I find Gaz are a tad more than you think, towards Spax money. The Raldes link you gave is one I've looked at before & its £44.50 each + vat + @£20 in shipping, so all of a sudden its not cheap. The Spax I have on at the minute seem to have something seized as they dont stiffen regardless of how much I turn the adjuster.

Yes, Thats the one I can find, hence asking for another (or a pair) on here. :D

Morning all. I am replacing the rubber engine mounts on my 1972 Mk3 2.0GT & there seems to be a variance of info on t'interweb regarding thickness. 38mm, 41mm, or 50mm is the question - what was fitted originally please?

Afternoon all. Having spent the last 6 months fixing/fettling my Southern Irish import Mk3 GT (build report to follow) I am keen to find out its history. Was originally on the reg VTP 547L before being exported to Southern Ireland in Jan 2006. Has had 3 owners over there under the reg ZV 5141. DVLA have advised it will probably be given its old UK number back. Anyone know the car?

BUDGIE replied to GXL's topic in Suspension, Steering, & Brakes
Hi Craig. Yes, new subframe bushes (I am going to check they are lined up as I never considered they could have moved) & new inner arm bushes.
