Almost anything with wheels on. Rock Music. Wine. Border Collies. Sometimes all at once!
  1. I think when I did mine I got some very short pop rivets from one of the fastener suppliers on eBay. The badge surround is held on buy steel clips, I think Bresco sell them.
  2. Thanks Kev, I have a door that the skin is quite good on, and am reluctant to use it as it seems a shame to take off a perfectly usable skin. I will see if anything else turns up, but if not I will contact you.
  3. Hello, I am looking for a near side 2 door MK1 door shell with a scruffy skin to make an alloy skinned door from if anyone can help.
  4. Hello again, I did not get the axle built as planned as I wanted to only put the half shafts in once! I have located my original GT axle, and it will be a major job to dig it out, but I will do it this week and measure it against the 1300 one. Re. the bearings, so far I have found two types, narrow outer race that have a separate oil seal, and wide outer race that are sealed type.
  5. Thank you Dave Rich and Pete, (Sounds like a good name for a band). Should be putting the axle together this weekend, I will post the outcome.
  6. Hello, Does anyone know if 9" GT/lotus brakes can be fitted to a standard Mk2 1300 axle? I seem to remember something about the GT half shaft flange being slightly further out. Thanks.
  7. Thanks for the advice, I have checked the nearest and most obvious places without luck. I think they knew what they were looking for though, as there were some cast bellhousings, a couple of gearboxes and some brake drums that they had to walk past, and they left them. If they were weighing scrap in these would have been better.
  8. I had a pair of used 2 door mk1 rear wings stolen from near Newark yesterday. They are (were)complete with wheel tubs and chassis rails. Painted dark brown. If folks could keep a look out for these being offered it would be much appreciated. Any information treated in confidence. Thanks
  9. I use a bit of steel rod that is a close fit inside the tube, then use some curved jaw grips. Sometimes leaves a few marks but the rod inside the tube stops it crushing.
  10. Perfect Nigel, that is a great help. Thanks very much
  11. Thank you Nigel, that is very kind.
  12. Hello Has anyone got a picture of the bulkhead/engine bay of a s2 gt or e please? I need to see where the bonnet cable, choke cable and oil gauge pipe come through! I think I may have welded up a bit to much when removing an old alarm and other gubbins. Thanks,
  13. Did you find a valance?
  14. Thanks both, I thought I could see a slight difference in them,I should be able to work out now.
