  1. yes exactly that, 1598cc. the short fat early block was 1593cc, as stated will come with ecomax weber carb if required..
  2. pinto engine for sale. 165 block 1598cc originally from low milage sierra. been in my cortina last 4years. im upgrading to 205injected. im keeping the cortina sump and exhaust manifold. will come with sierra sump. can throw in sierra carb + inlet manifold modified to clear cortina heaterbox. also have distributor fitted with electronic kit, previos owner told me was unleaded converted. now approxx 70000miles. £150ono, currently still in the car, canbe heard running if your quick. i dont know how to put pics on here.collection from somerset, call only please, im not on here very often, 07930158906
  3. thankyou all for that but i would rather try and find a cortina one ist.
  4. i was unaware that a sierra rack would fit?? enlighten me.
  5. wanted PAS rack to fit mk5. ive just got hold of a sierra 2.0i to transplant the injected engine into my mk5.the sierra has power steering and id like to transplant the lot across and fit a cortina PAS rack.
  6. wanted, full stainless exhaust system for mk5 1600/2000, i thought these would be availible off the shelf but i am having trouble sourcing one., chris
  7. i 've just done this conversion on my mk5 1.6, to fit a type9 to a 1.6 you will need a 1.8 sierra flywheel and clutch which i believe is the same as 2.0 cortina. the original speedo cable can be made to fit by rerouting around the mastercylinder/brake servo. you can get different size drivegears depending on what axle ratio you are using. i modified the sierra crossmember to fit,you will need a 2.0 propshaft which are increasingly difficult to find with out knackered ujs which cannot be replaced (stake typejoint), i had one custom made with circlip type joints, expensive but worth it. the gearstick is too long and looks silly. i have shortened mine by cutting out the rubber bush bit and then fitted the standard cortina gearknob. you cant tell anythings been done.
  8. took the front wings off my mk5 today, the plan being paint behind them an refit, as you would expect ,they came off in pieces, now i need a replacement pair, question; are mk4 different to mk5, if yes could mk4 one be made to fit a mk5????
  9. sorry for late response, ive had a right weekend of it. the 1.8 sierra flywheel takes a 215mm clutch plate which im lead to believe is the same as 2.0 cortina, i am also told that the input spline on the 2.o 4speed box is the same as the type9 5speed but cannot confirm this ( any one out there know????) it may be a little lighter but that is no bad thing, i am going to get postage quote on tues 21st & will pm you
  10. i have two 1.8 sierra pinto ones, any good? they take the 2.0 clutch, needed to fit a type9 so should be suitible. £20 + postage for one, im in somerset mind.

i may be interested in this, what ratio is it? will it fit a mk5?and finally is it resonably quiet?,, chris 07930158906
  12. do you still have this? whats it worth? i dont know, give me an idea and i'll come an get it, chris 07930158906
  13. if the 1.6 laser capri has a type9 gearbox then it has 23spline 2ltr spec front joint
  14. is the rear axle sold now or not? can you call me asap if its still availible 07930158906, chris
