P100 project

Recommended Posts

Well this was an impulse buy off ebay! Overall it's not in to bad a shape, fronts been cut up a bit as it had a V8 fitted but now just a rolling shell.

Probably not going to do to much to it but new bonnet is a must.

Engine options??? Advise please! Liking the idea of a V6! Liking the 24V cosworth out of the Scorpio but being an auto not sure what would be involved and it needs to be a fairly simple job!

Any we have a Ford Consol Classic that needs to be finished first so don't expect to any updates for a wile.

Different for a P100 a Blown 24 Valve would be very nice.

And a proper paint job.

With that I might be tempted to go with a biggish diesel. Something out of a 4x4 so it has the right sort of torque.

Need to put it on the ramp and have a good look but as far as I can tell it's mostly standard underneath but not sure on front brakes yet.

Would like to keep it all ford if I can but trying to think of a large engine with manual gearbox is not easy.

Later land rovers have the Ford tdci engine. So you could go with the larger transit engine (2.4?) with a landy bellhousing and gearbox. Or standard 2.2 litre engine. You'd have to figure out how to remove the front drive from the transfer box but your reward would be the high/low ratio and diff-lock lever.

Best use of a Peugeot bumper I have seen.

The use of the word 'interesting' is usually highly overused. Works perfectly in this car related scenario though. Cant wait to see what the mods have been and your journey through it.
