brought this gem on monday full years mot 6 months tax not bad for £150. 1982 x reg 2.3 gl manual 2 owners from new 82000 genuine miles

been sat on the drive for just over 11 years, engine still turns freely just no spark i will be breaking it in the near future once i start rebuilding my 2 door

Oh dear god how sad. If somebody could have got that a few years ago it could have been a nice car.

you would need a lot of filler for that one now then i gather you only want parts of it engine for your gt is there nothing else worth saving on her its such a shame when they get left to rot like that people just give up and leave them instead of

selling them on when they do not want them anymore just a case of saving what you can then good luck m8 :cheers:

bloody hell,never seen one with a bonnet rotten like that before !! looks like someone poured corrosive acid on it !!

damn shame too as 2.3 GL's are very rare now :cheers:

Its a long time since I saw one as solid as that. Nice example. :unsure: :D

 

I can't believe that it can support its own weight let alone anything else.

 

 

Now a grovel. You know the chrome trim that goes along the roof. Where it hits the back windscreen it meets another trim coming up the rear door. Can I have (am prepared to pay money) the little chrome angled bits that fit over these two trims of it please pretty please. Begging now please please please. I lost mine in the rebuild and they really would finish my car off.

make me wonder why people can leave cars to rot like that & forget about them i mean that blueone ws on the owners drive for 11 years !! surley he thought about doing summin with it

 

although i know of a mk 2 escort ghia on a t reg with 42k 2 door that has sat for 10 years under half a tarpulin but the bloke tells me he will get round to it .

 

another nhappy ending i guess :)
