Your a gent sir..I have been doing some digging and it seems SA seats are different.As in your post my car originally had a rear center arm rest. I think i am going to have to make something for now,and keep a sharp eye out for seats/parcel shelf sales Its people like you that make this forum so good

Thank you so much. I am still scratching my head? I have seen on this site someone posted with picture corktina car with armrest and it was green cadiz? I have never really paid that much attention to rear parcel shelfs. Mine is flat but a very poor fit,so really it should suit my seat(non arm rest). The pictures are great and the seats look the same as when you delivered them, bit cleaner. I might have to make a shelf. I might take the car to a seat restorer to see what they think. I will try and find the post i mentioned. Thanks again you are most helpfull

Yes it is his old car. The rear seat is taunus(no arm rest)to be honest all this time the rear seats were just placed!I have managed to fix them they are close to cortina but slightly different. The parcel shelf never quite fitted,I dont know if it is original suspect it has been altered what ever it is. It looked a lot better until i fitted some speakers. It has this rubber stuff? running across the back shelf?is this why some models have a hump? I thought if i can get a correct shelf i can make a much better job of it. To be honest if i could find a decent set of black seats front and back i would change. I love the green cadiz but it is past its best back and front not very noticeable but will only get worst.Thanks for replies chaps

Not to sure i assumed there would be one type.The one in the car is flat but has been trimmed. I read that it should be in place by 3 rivets?this bit is obviously missing?Also it does not fully meet the screen? When shelf removed there is a rubberish sort of material going across.I assume this is sound deadoning?..the shelf has never been a good fit but i lived with it...now i have fitted two shelf speakers it pulls the shelf down in front of said rubber hump which has lifted the back. My thinking is get/make a proper shelf and start again.....I thank you for your reply it is much appreciated as is your knowledge....cheers kev

i have been reading posts..today cos i furloughed i thought i will look at rear end..all i managed was replace rear shocks used but low miles ta very much shadow... pls see pics..lower arm to chassis i aint got any big enough? lower to axle i got but ones on car are solid?upper arm to body solid possibly got hard to tell,upper arm axle got but ones on car are solid.....why solids on axle are they estate or heavy duty...they all look like ford bushes,i am lucky none are .ged... by the by its ages since i posted but i read every day....I loaded the pics easy kev PS dont know if you can see but one has a 74 number?

for a good while i have had diff oil contaminating one of my rear brake drums. i have just fitted new rear wheel bearings(right way round) one half shaft was tight as a no i wont say it and the offending half shaft came out all to easy Someone previous has used some blue stuff?I have used loctite bearing/stud retainer on the outer casing. I used this cos its all i had. so basically the oil is passing between the outer bearing casing and the axle. I did not fit me new brake shoes cos i think it will still leak anyone with any better ideas/products? All answers on a post card please to, If i dont reply its cos i am away for three days but any help appreciated...cheers kev

Nearly paid the tax reminder,then remembered to register it for tax free :icecream: swapped back to my 38dgas after running a 4 barrel holley for nearly two years Petrol leaked everywhere from the blanked off return hose,so replaced that Water leak drove me mad,fitted new stat hsg/top hose Took her out today and kicked the . off her because i have missed the ol weber induction :thumbup: She is looking forward to wales friday :winner:

as previously said, you only get 12v when cranking(if you have a ballast resitor wire connected) you get 9v when ignition is no(not cranking)and 9v when engine is running(not cranking). If you have 12v when ignition on or when engine is running then someone has disconnected your ballast and run another wire. If your ballast wire breaks your car wont run(unless someone has run another wire) Not everyone can get their head round this.I find it easy but harder to explain...... If you dont sort it ask again and we will go at it another way... :icecream: kev
