  1. I will echo what others have said. You have the skills or at least the ability to turn your hand to virtually anything as demonstrated in this thread. I do understand though why you would want to farm this job out as there really is a lot of work involved in painting a car!
  2. Which engine are you running? I think the water pump on the 2 litre Mondeo will run the wrong way after the pas and Aircon pump have been removed and needs the focus or escort 1.8 pump fitting although apparently some have used the pump backwards without issue. Even so you would probably get some flow through the heater matrix.
  3. With your skills Johnny I bet you could make a nice factory appearing but custom sump guard!
  4. On this site I would say. Saves all the faff on eBay!
  5. Yep, I could read it on my phone. Thanks for posting!
  6. Having taken the engine apart would they not have seen that this shaft between the dizzy and oil pump was no longer serviceable? Could they be blaming the dizzy to get out of footing the rebuild cost? Also shouldn't they check all parts before refitting them especially if they can cause an engine to seize? Although I don't see how a distributor can do that but then I've never had a pinto apart!
  7. Speedo looks like a MK2. I'm looking forward to seeing this go together!
  8. Ha ha yeah good point! πŸ˜† I once converted a 68 Charger to look like a 69 because I preferred it. 68 is my fave now but I like all three of the 2nd gen models. The rear tail lights on the 69 look awesome when lit up at night and there's no mistaking what car they belong to.
  9. You mean a 68 Dodge Charger surely! 😁. I should have known it wouldn't be a 57 Chevy. Too obvious. I like the Olds, should be interesting (I haven't watched the video yet). Another one of my faves is the 57 Ford Fairlane.
  10. I have to say that I don't like the idea of forking out for YouTube type content but Pete does some great videos so I'm thinking of signing up. Most of us pay to watch TV and a lot if it is now where near as good as Pete's videos.
  11. Despite owning a high value classic car myself I hope values do come down soon. I don't plan on selling my cars and there are others I'd like to own but I've been priced out of the market!
  12. Wow. That is awesome! πŸ‘
  13. Good on you for saving the catπŸ‘ As for the Cortinas, there are some that can do all the work themselves which would make the cars viable to repair. I guess it's just a matter of finding that person that is willing to take them on. Is import duty payable now Brexit is done? I have a feeling that cars over a certain age are exempt but I could be wrong!
  14. Nice work as usual Johnny. I do enjoy a good restoration thread.
  15. Thanks for posting. I've book marked it to read later on. He's got some fab skills alright!
  16. Oh no. What's the plan? Patch it up or restore?
  17. I guess the present owner is unaware of the cars history.
  18. Ringer? I think we need to know more!
  19. Thanks Lobby. As it happens I dropped the cylinder head off at Saunders yesterday and they called me this afternoon to say it was ready! Cheers Matt.
